Soundtraxx Product Discontinuance - This announcement was issued by Soundtraxx
SoundTraxx DSD-280LC
After being a staple of our product line since 2001, wehave decided to discontinue the DSD-B280LC.This is ourpart number 820010.While we know that this has beena popular
product, changes to the electronics in newerversions
of the Bachmann Spectrum HO Consolidationshipping
since October of 2005 have made this productobsolete
for all but models shipped prior to that date.
It has become somewhat of a customer service issuefor
dealers and customers alike, all trying to determine
whether their particular model is compatible or not.
Dealers
who already have product on order will receivetheir
shipment within the next 2-3 weeks, but there willnot
be any additional units made.
No
decision has been made regarding a 'replacement' that
would be suitable for newer models. There is, however,
plenty of room in the tender of this locomotive to use a
Tsunami if desired.
