International CE Series School Bus
Trackside “Tid-Bits”
Product Review
Boley is among one of the major
manufacturers of scale vehicles in HO, and their line is quite
extensive. They offer a good quality product at a fair price.
The school bus is a representation of a late-model International “CE” Series school bus. While there were no specific plans to compare the model against, the overall look and feel are very nice. The bus weighs in at roughly a ¼ pound. The length is at some 35 scale feet long. Die work seems to be crisp and accurate throughout the body. Among some of the features are: a fold out stop sign behind the drivers window, a retractable crossing gate that neatly tucks into the front bumper. Also attached are mirrors and roof line air vents which capture current day options. Tires, rims, and wheels appear to be in accurate proportion to the models good looks. Painting on the bus seems to be well done, especially when you consider that yellow can be a difficult color to produce properly on most models. Printing is crisp and well spaced out. An interior with seating is furnished as well.
Boley’s school bus comes with an
MSRP of $14.99. It will be sure to be an attractive eye-catcher on
many a layout scene, or even just in a collectors show case. We
look forward to any future variations of school buses that Boley may
offer.
